MONTH OF February

Monthly Snapshot:

This is truly your month, Aquarius—a birthday season unlike many others. At any given point this February, four to six planets will be circulating through your sign. No, you may not have an epic party or even a parade. But that won’t stop you from reveling in your own sense of self-confidence and savoring the pleasure of your own company. Rise into a leadership position or more public role and embrace the opportunity to blaze new trails!

But the greatest galactic gift you’ll get is a show of solidarity from the skies, especially after the tough 2020 many Water Bearers weathered. For the first time in a LONG while, you may feel confident expressing your ideas without apology. If you’re ready to go big with a passion project, 2021 is your year.

Cosmic caveat: Mercury, the ruler of technology and communication, is retrograde in Aquarius from January 30 to February 20. Some of your wizardly ideas could come across totally wrong, accidentally offending or upsetting people. Or your dazzling pitches could fall flat, meeting a lukewarm audience when you were certain you had this one in the bag.

Also, your ruling planet, Uranus, will lock into its first of three challenging squares with your co-ruler, Saturn, on February 17. The battle that normally plays out between your ears will also happen in your life: Should you follow an ambitious and structured plan…or break every rule and do things in your own contrarian and quirky way? Get ready to overturn a few outmoded parts of your life as you attempt to resolve this inner conflict.

Luckily, some grounding energy arrives on February 18, when the Sun moves into Pisces and your stabilizing, productive second house. Instead of trying to figure out the answer to life itself, roll up your sleeves and start taking step-by-step actions to make an exciting concept into tangible reality.

Week 1: February 1-7

No more martyring

You’re feeling like yourself again, more and more each day! As planets progress through Aquarius and your first house of autonomy and solo ventures, it gets easier to prioritize your own happiness. That’s not always something that Aquarians do easily—as the sign of groups and friendship, you often defer to your crew’s consensus.

But the message written in your 2021 stars is to make yourself a priority—without compromising or sacrificing. And with Mercury retrograde putting you in a reflective way, you may recognize just how detrimental it’s been to NOT advocate for yourself!

This initiative couldclass=”body-el-link standard-body-el-link” be challenged this week by two jarring squares from intense and demanding Mars, which is in Taurus and your domestic fourth house. Pressure from family, roommates or loved ones could tempt you to defer your desires and give in to their needs. Anger or resentment could flare up if you do, but rather than lash out, try a firm but loving “I’m sorry, but I have other plans. Could we pick a different time?” If you’ve been catering to a needy person’s requests at your own expense, maybe it’s time to draw a firm line. It may seem easier just to cave, but you’ll pay a steep price later.

Week 2: February 8-15

All eyes on YOU

Get ready for your “personal New Year”—to the nth power! Been wondering when you might finally see your cherished passion projects and solo efforts really pick up momentum? This week’s initiating Aquarius new moon offers a supercharged lunar lift!

This all kicks off on Thursday, February 11, as the new moon in your futuristic, egalitarian sign and first house of identity is joined by FIVE heavenly bodies in Aquarius. Along with the intuitive moon, the bold Sun, harmonizer Venus, expansive Jupiter, communicator Mercury (retrograde through February 20) AND structured Saturn will all be in your sign. Look for powerful insights and inspirations about the future you’re creating for yourself—and the vital leadership roles you have to play on teams, in groups and in society at large.

Joining the #AquariusArmy is the asteroid Pallas Athena. In mythology, Athena was the goddess of battle and victory. But rather than rush in to conquer your goals, take your time and assess the possibilities, the way a skilled and observant warrior would. Athena is prophetic; what does YOUR intuition tell you about what’s ahead? Trust your future visions and set goals that you can manifest in time for 2021’s TWO Aquarius full moons, which will arrive on July 23 and August 22.

Readyclass=”body-el-link standard-body-el-link” for a makeover? Want to magnetize new love and friendship? The “great benefics,” ( helpful Venus and positive Jupiter, are exactly conjunct (united) at the new moon—making you a head-turning superstar today. But hey Aquarius, could you shop your closet or go revive an old spark instead of looking for the new and novel? Every new moon presents the opportunity for a fresh start, but with Mercury retrograde in the mix, you’re reminded to also revisit the past for clues on how to move forward in an original way.

The annual Aquarius new moon always coincides with Lunar New Year’s Eve, and February 11 also kicks off the Year of the Metal Ox. The structured and steadfast Ox will give any changes you implement the persistence to go the distance.

Let’s not forget Valentine’s Day on Sunday, February 14. With the moon in independent Aries and your social third house, you might want to celebrate what our friend calls Palentine’s Day, communing with your crew virtually or for a safe, lighthearted gathering.

Week 3: February 15-21

People-pleasing no more!

As we’ve established by now, February is tasking you with the challenge of putting yourself first while still balancing your commitments to the folks you love. Breaking the habit of people-pleasing turns out to be surprisingly harder than you thought, right, Aquarius? At the same time, it’s afforded you an “out” or a spiritual bargain of sorts. If you tell people what they want to hear or give them what they want, then YOU earn a free pass to do whatever the heck YOU want, when you want to do it.

If you’ve been doing some version of this unconscious calculus in your relationships, this week’s extreme duel between your co-rulers, Saturn and Uranus, turns that equation into a major mathematical error. On Wednesday, February 17, then again on June 14 and December 24, rules-obsessed Saturn and rule-breaker Uranus will challenge each other, crashing into a trio of 90-degree squares.

This dynamic mashup can provoke sudden change, waking you up to your power and impact, but also creating a chaotic curveball that can topple the existing structures, assumptions and agreements in your life. If you’ve been going along to get along, that just won’t cut it!

With your primary ruler, disruptive Uranus, in your home and family sector, changes could happen in your personal life, whether you’re ready for them or not. Is it time to set firmer boundaries with loved ones—or, on the flip side, to be more accountable to your clan? This week’s intense starmap will reveal all!

Week 4: February 22-28

Bring it on home

Time to maclass=”body-el-link standard-body-el-link” ke some changes at Chateau Aquarius? On Wednesday, February 24, driven Mars and transformational Pluto unite in a fast-moving trine. Both planets are in manifesting earth signs (Mars in Taurus and Pluto in Capricorn), activating your zones of home, family, unfinished business, the past and imagination.

Have you been enduring a housebound or longstanding family issue that seems to evade any kind of solution? This meetup of energetic Mars and incisive Pluto can lead to a major breakthrough. Follow your gut and pay class=”body-el-link standard-body-el-link” close attention to your dreams as your intuition will lead you to the deep place you need to go for lasting transformation to take place. Check out our Feng Shui course Home Reset for guidance.

Just make sure to do ample research before making big moves (or releasing grand statements) that will be hard to retract. Your power to create change is strong now—but so is your ability to create chaos or hurt the ones you love. Step back from your feelings and activate your inner diplomat before you make any major pronouncements about the insights you’ve uncovered. Not everyone can handlclass=”body-el-link standard-body-el-link” e your truth!

A major moment for joint ventures, investments and intimate relationships arrives with the year’s only Virgo full moon on Saturday, February 27. This is one of 2021’s four supermoons ( and, like all full moons, signals it’s time to harvest what you’ve planted. Should you stay or go? Sign or decline? Look back to the Virgo new moon of September 17, 2020, for clues. A property matter could be on the table, perhaps involving the purchase or sale of a home. You may uncover a brilliant way to merge your assets, talents and resources with a fellow powe player to create a win-win.

People are SUCH a mixed bag, Aquarius (sigh). This month, you need their support more than ever—yet, you’ve never felt more drained by the demands of your closest ties. If 2021 can teach you anything, it’s the importance of taking care of numero uno. To use a phrase that now feels terribly in need of an update: You’ve got to put your own oxygen mask on first.

The love planets, Venus and Mars, are at odds with each other all month as they travel in a harsh square (90-degree angle), making their peak conflict on February 19. Playful and romantic Venus is in YOUR sign until February 25, joined at any given time by four to six planets. Freedom is a major aphrodisiac now. But intense and angsty Mars is in Taurus and your needy, emotional fourth house. You may run hot and cold (come here…now go away!). Or you could feel totally constrained by the demands of loved ones and family.

On February 11, Venus teams up with Jupiter in Aquarius, right at the Aquarius new moon when the Sun, Mercury and Saturn are also in your sign. It will be nearly impossible to put other people’s needs above your own priorities—at least, not without a good deal of upset or resentment.

As the “great benefics,” Venus and Jupiter, unite in your house of fearless self-expression, this is the day to lovingly but firmly assert what you need. You’ve got the mic, and a fair-minded audience, so this is the perfect time to candidly share what’s in your heart. But do think through how your message will come across. You don’t want to get carried away with your candor and inadvertently hurt someone.

Some grounding energy arrives on February 25, when Venus shifts into Pisces and your stabilizing second house. Venus here also whets your appetite for luxury. Given current restrictions, you might be limited to indulging in some special things at home. But what a perfect excuse to splurge on favorite gourmet treats and talk about your shared future plans in front of a roaring fire (or curled up near the radiator!).

Key Dates: February 6
Venus-Saturn meetup

As somber Saturn hooks up with love-maven Venus, relationships feel like serious business. You can no longer sweep a nagging issue under the rug—nor should you. This is a day for a “head over heart” approach. Have a no-nonsense conversation about boundaries or the future. Do you both still want the same things? Get real about it. Saturn rules experts, and if you can’t get past a sticking point, a coach or couple’s therapist could help. Single? Swipe past the players (even the hot ones!) and choose contenders with long-term potential instead.
